This cotton vintage dress was designed by the famous mid century designer Carolyn Schnurer in the 1950's. The dress is strapless but has an attached piece of fabric that can be worn in a number of different ways as we have tried to show in the photographs. Schnurer was known for her culturally-inspired clothing collections, including casual day dresses and swimwear, and for the beautiful textiles that were inspired by her many travels.
This pretty vintage 50's dress is a butter yellow with dabs of royal blue, green and beige, with a side metal zipper. The print has shades of brown, blue and green with tiny gold dots.
This is a great example of Carolyn Schnurer's innovative use of fabrics and her unique approach to fashion design that made clothing more practical while still being exciting and stylish.
We estimate this to be a modern day US size 4/6 but please refer to the measurements for the very best fit.
